Where’s Waldo in Thomasville
We all understand how important it is to shop locally. This helps reduce our carbon footprint as well as supports local Thomasville businesses, keeping our local economy strong. The Bookshelf and Gallery in Thomasville wanted to create a fun way to encourage Thomasville residents and visitors to frequent local shops. That’s why they created Where’s Waldo in Thomasville.
You are probably familiar with the Where’s Waldo books. If not, it is a series of children’s books that consist of pictures filled to the brim with fun items, people and more. The object of the books is to point out where the main character, Waldo, is located within these pages. It isn’t as easy as it sounds. The Bookshelf and Gallery has teamed up with 25 downtown Thomasville shops during July for their Shop Waldo Local event. A Waldo figurine (little guy in a red and white striped shirt wearing glasses and a red and white striped hat) has been placed somewhere inside each of the 25 shops. It is your goal to find out where Waldo is hidden in each one of these shops in Thomasville.
Participants in the Where’s Waldo in Thomasville event should stop by The Bookshelf and Gallery located at 126 S Broad Street to pick up a tracking sheet. Once you have visited the participating store and found the Waldo figurine, you must have an employee of the business sign off that you did, indeed, find Waldo. Then, move on to the next business. Feel free to look around each business you visit and purchase an item here or there. When you have finished finding all the Waldo figurines and had them signed off, turn your tracking sheet in to The Bookshelf and Gallery. A drawing for prizes will be held at The Bookshelf on Saturday, July 27th.
From now through July 27th, visit any of the participating downtown shops to see if you can find out where’s Waldo in Thomasville. You may wander into a shop you were unaware of and find some fantastic treasures along the way. If you have any questions about the Where’s Waldo in Thomasville contest, please feel free to contact The Bookshelf and Gallery at (229) 228-7767 or via email.
